An events extravaganza delivered by Islamic Relief Spain has raised over 100,000 Euros to support our humanitarian programmes for war-torn Syria.
Beginning on Friday 30 May, the three day events programme began with sermons and talks by Sheikh Rateb Al Nabulsi in Madrid. Over 600 people attended the first ever Muslim event held at Madrid University, which was organised by student volunteers.
In Barcelona, Islamic Relief Spain held its first major event: a sell-out gala dinner, which ended with nasheeds from Abu Rateb and raised almost 65,000 Euros.
The programme was rounded off in Valencia, where 700 people participated in an event in the city’s main mosque, which raised 29,900 Euros.
Altogether, donations topped 106,000 Euros – with over 80 volunteers supporting the events and more than 200 donors giving generously to ease the suffering of families affected by the Syria conflict.
