This Eid, Islamic Relief will pass your qurbani to some of the world’s most vulnerable families – so you know your sacrifice is reaching those who need it most.
Your generous support last year meant we could distribute nearly 10,500 qurbani meat packs in Kenya alone.
The packs helped people like Hawa, who was left to provide for ten children by herself when her husband died from tuberculosis.
“I run a grocery shop in the local market,” says Hawa, 40. “I’ve also had to depend on Islamic Relief’s orphan sponsorship programme to help with my children’s education.”
Many of the people who receive qurbani through Islamic Relief are also helped by our other projects.
“As we are poor, we do not have meat on a regular basis. Meat is very expensive, especially when you are blessed with ten children. I try to ensure that [the children] have some rice and vegetables to eat and I prioritise their school fees, clothing and housing.”
The 6kg of meat Hawa received meant she could give her children a treat at Eid.
“I am very grateful to receive some meat for my family on Eid. Eid is a great celebration and I’m happy that my children get to celebrate with all other Muslims.”
