We currently have a vacancy for the post of an Internal Auditor based in Birmingham, UK. The Internal Auditor (IA) discharges work that supports IRW’s Audit Committee in providing independent assurance to the IRW Board on the state of the control environment and risk management arrangements within IRW. The work undertaken covers an assessment of outputs, impacts and performance across the various areas of the organisation and the organisation as a whole.
The internal Auditor will support internal audit department in all areas. This includes assisting the senior auditor and audit manager. S/he will be providing assistance to the Audit department by travelling abroad and conducting internal audits and investigations. You will be providing assistance to the HROD in administrating the conflict of interest policy and process. Please note this position involves approximately 30% travel abroad, largely to developing countries.
The successful candidate must have a recognised qualification in one of the following: Part CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants), Part ACA (Association of Chartered Accountants) or Part ACCA (Certified Chartered Accountant), which implies a thorough knowledge of the principles, procedures and practices of accounting, and financial records and transaction. The candidate is preferred to have knowledge of audit procedures, including planning, techniques, test and sampling methods involved in conducting audits. You will have an ability to maintain current knowledge of developments related to business matters of interest to internal audit, particularly legislation changes and developments as they affect charities, and new auditing techniques and practices. The candidate must have excellent communication skills with proven ability to write high quality proposals in English and have excellent IT skills.
