Islamic Relief are supporting aid efforts following the recent earthquake in Turkey. The 6.8 magnitude earthquake struck the Sivrice district of Elazig, and was followed by around 1,000 aftershocks.
More than 40 people have been reported to have lost their lives in the disaster and over 1,600 others are thought to have been injured.
Islamic Relief emergency teams are currently on the ground in Elazig and Matalya and providing vital assistance to those affected.
Our rescue efforts are focusing on giving survivors blankets and other winter items. The weather conditions are harsh in the region: temperatures can drop to -6 degrees.
