Hundreds of vulnerable families in Nepal are better able to survive the harsh winter weather, thanks to Islamic Relief.
In collaboration with our implementing partner, Rural Development Centre, we gave winter kits to over 500 vulnerable families, mostly from the marginalised Dalit and indigenous Majhi communities.
Kits were distributed in Chadrapur and Gadhimai, Rautahat district. They included blankets, shawls, jackets, thermals and woollen caps.
Islamic Relief began working in Nepal in 2015, in the aftermath of the powerful Ghorka earthquake. Since then, we have been delivering projects to rebuild communities and meet the basic needs of vulnerable people in earthquake-affected areas.
Our office in the country has recently signed a landmark agreement with the government of Nepal. The official agreement, which is a mandatory part of the registration process, paves the way for an exciting five-year inclusive development project.
