Islamic Relief are supporting aid efforts in the aftermath of the latest earthquake in Pakistan. The 5.9 magnitude earthquake struck the Harnai District in Balochistan. 41 people have been reported to have lost their lives in the disaster and hundreds more have been injured.
Rescue teams are still searching through rubble for others, as many have been reported missing.
Hundreds of homes have been affected, and families have been left homeless. Schools and hospitals in the area have been badly damaged, as well as roads and bridges, which is making recovery efforts more challenging.
Islamic Relief already have a presence in the district of Harnai and our emergency teams are currently on the ground and providing vital assistance to affected families, who are in urgent need of food, shelter, bedding and hygiene items.
Our teams are working with the local government to support rescue efforts for missing persons.
Around the world, Islamic Relief is a lifeline for families in crisis. Support our lifesaving work: donate to our Global Emergencies fund.
